Designated Safeguarding Leads

What is Safeguarding?

Safeguarding is the action that is taken to promote the welfare of children and protect them from harm.

Safeguarding means:

  • protecting children from abuse and maltreatment
  • preventing harm to children’s health or development
  • ensuring children grow up with the provision of safe and effective care
  • taking action to enable all children and young people to have the best outcomes

Child protection is part of the safeguarding process. It focuses on protecting individual children identified as suffering or likely to suffer significant harm. This includes child protection procedures which detail how to respond to concerns about a child.

Our Safeguarding Team

All staff, including temporary staff and volunteers, are subject to stringent background checks including clearance with the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) to ensure their suitability for working with children.

Our safeguarding team is made up of the following staff:

  • Izzy Reid-Mackay, Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL)
  • Claire Beach, Prevent Lead, Deputy Designated Safeguarding lead (DDSL)
  • Diane Resende, Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL)
  • Jennie Green, Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL)

If you have any concerns about a child's safety or well-being, you can contact the office who will direct you to Mrs Beach, Mrs Reid-Mackay, Miss Resende or Mrs Green who are our Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSLs). You can also speak to them directly if you see them on the playground.
